About Oldfield Flooring

Family-Owned. Long Island Proud.

Built on Craftsmanship, Driven by Community

Oldfield Flooring was born from a simple belief: Long Island homeowners deserve flooring professionals who treat every project like it's their own home. As a family-owned business rooted right here on the Island, we understand what it means to take pride in where you live.

What started as a passion for bringing worn, tired hardwood floors back to life has grown into a full-service flooring company trusted by hundreds of families from Cold Spring Harbor to The Hamptons. Every board we sand, every plank we install, and every finish we apply reflects our commitment to doing things the right way -- no shortcuts, no surprises, no hidden fees.

We built our reputation one floor at a time, earning the trust of homeowners through honest communication, transparent pricing, and craftsmanship that speaks for itself. When you work with Oldfield Flooring, you're not just hiring a contractor. You're welcoming a neighbor into your home.

What We Stand For

These aren't just words on a page. They're the principles that guide every interaction, every estimate, and every project we take on.

Craftsmanship

We're Bona Certified professionals who invest in ongoing training and premium materials. Every floor we touch is a testament to our dedication to the craft. We don't rush. We don't cut corners. We get it right.

Transparency

Our pricing is upfront and honest. No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no pressure tactics. We provide detailed written estimates so you know exactly what you're paying for before any work begins. It's that simple.

Community

Long Island is home. We support our neighbors through community initiatives, veterans' drives, and local partnerships. When you choose Oldfield Flooring, you're investing in a business that invests right back into your community.

Quality

From the products we use to the finishes we apply, quality is non-negotiable. We partner with industry-leading brands like Bona and select only premium hardwoods, ensuring floors that look stunning and last for generations.

Bona Certified

What Does Bona Certified Mean?

Bona is the global leader in hardwood floor care, and their certification program is one of the most respected credentials in the flooring industry. Becoming a Bona Certified Craftsman isn't something that's handed out freely -- it requires rigorous training, demonstrated expertise, and a commitment to using Bona's premium, environmentally responsible product systems.

  • Advanced Training -- Our team has completed Bona's comprehensive training program covering sanding techniques, finishing systems, and dust containment.
  • Premium Products -- We use Bona's industry-leading waterborne finishes, which are GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality and provide exceptional durability.
  • Dustless Sanding -- Bona's DCS dust containment system captures up to 99.8% of dust during sanding, keeping your home clean and your air safe.
  • Proven Results -- Bona-finished floors are known for their rich color, smooth feel, and long-lasting beauty that stands up to the demands of busy Long Island families.

Meet Otis

Every great team needs a great leader, and at Oldfield Flooring, that role belongs to Otis -- our charming golden retriever and unofficial Director of Customer Relations.

Otis takes his job very seriously. He greets every customer with a wagging tail and an enthusiastic welcome that immediately puts people at ease. During consultations, he's known to offer his expert opinion by settling down right on the floor in question -- his way of saying, "Yes, this one definitely needs refinishing."

On job sites, Otis serves as our Quality Assurance Supervisor, carefully inspecting finished floors by walking across them (multiple times, just to be thorough). He's also been known to boost team morale with well-timed requests for belly rubs during lunch breaks.

If you stop by for a consultation, don't be surprised when Otis is the first one to greet you. He considers it his most important responsibility -- and honestly, he's pretty good at it.

Rooted in Our Community

Being a Long Island business means being a Long Island neighbor. We believe in showing up for the community that has shown up for us.

Veterans Toiletry Drive

We're proud to organize and participate in toiletry drives supporting local veterans. These men and women gave so much for our community, and we're honored to give back in any way we can. Our annual drive collects essential items for veterans in need across Long Island.

Local Partnerships

We partner with local contractors, designers, and real estate professionals to help Long Island homeowners get the best possible results. By keeping our network local, we strengthen the businesses and families that make this community great.

Neighborhood Engagement

From sponsoring local events to supporting school fundraisers, we're committed to being an active, positive presence in the neighborhoods we serve. When our community thrives, we all thrive.
